Privacy policy

The short version

We collect the minimum we need to run your account: your email address, the recipes you save, and your subscription status. We do not sell your data and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, and your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google.

Activity data: the recipes you save and your dietary preferences, so the app can show you your own collection and relevant suggestions.

Subscription data: which plan you are on, its status and renewal date. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and never reach our servers.

Technical data: basic request logs used to keep the service secure and diagnose faults.

Why we are allowed to use it

We process account, activity and subscription data to perform our contract with you — it is what makes the service work. We process technical logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping WorldPlate secure and reliable.

Who we share it with

Our hosting and database provider, which stores your account and saved recipes on our behalf.

Our payment provider, which processes subscription payments and tells us whether your subscription is active.

Apple and Google, if you subscribe through an app store, which handle that billing relationship.

We share data with these providers only so they can deliver their part of the service, and we do not permit them to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Account and saved-recipe data is kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of you closing it. Billing records are kept for as long as tax law requires, usually six years.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Deleting your account from the profile page removes your saved recipes and profile.

To make any other request, email privacy@worldplate.app. We respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

WorldPlate is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact

If we make a material change to this policy we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Questions go to privacy@worldplate.app.
